Agreed. She's commercially appealing though. I think it's largely because of her winning personality, but she is not an actress. She is a movie star - and a bankable one because people find her entertaining. Julia Roberts has made a career out doing the same thing. The only difference is Roberts has delivered some pretty layered performances, whereas Bullock has not.

I'm one of those that feel Sandra Bullock makes every movie better just because she's in it It's just an opinion, as is yours..

Not one of the best actresses ever, not one of the worst ever, but many greater actors/actresses have said that playing comedy is very difficult and Sandra has proven she can do that and more. I very much agree with Gbolling1984 that in her case, she has charisma, looks great on camera, and has a high "Q" rating, or whatever they call that, which I think measures likability in general.

she has crazy likability factor along with talent. i will say her natural charisma shows more than her acting chops on screen but like all actors she has good performances in great movies and has even had some in bad films. i think the likability thing is more important for me. makes me want to see her on screen and if she's great then it's an added bonus

• a time to kill
  IMO their are plenty of other actresses that are more overrated than she would be.

I've always found her to be very engaging on screen.
'Infamous' was one of her performances that I particularly enjoyed.

Th111cere are different kinds of actors. Some are more of a 'blank slate', good at playing very complex characters (Daniel Day Lewis) while others have an immense likability,charm and screen presence, basically a personality you can't help but recognize and are best at entertaining, starring in movies which need someone like that or otherwise there would be no 'character' at all. Then again there are those that can do both. However, not everyone needs to be Meryl Streep to be deserving of being called a good actor.
In all honesty, a good leading actor needs likability more than the dazzling skill of completely disappearing inside a character. Sandra Bullock clearly has entertained millions of people so far and there is nothing wrong with that.

I'd answer your questions but you are on imdb you could just look up th2000e names of the films that she's been in. She is a fantastic actress, who actually acts and doesn't just play on her looks like some actresses.
