Actually she was always bi. She talked about how all her life she was attracted to both men and women.

Quotes from Anne Heche about her sexual orientation (source Brainyquote):
I have been very clear to everybody that just because I am getting married does not mean I call myself straight
I don't belong to the straights now they didn't get me back
My relationship with Ellen is no less significant as a marriage than my relationship to Corey
For anyone who thought that Ellen and I broke it off because of sexuality you couldn't be more mistaken
The idea people have that Anne Heche is now straight is wrong.

". . . but put make-up on her and shazam gorgeous."
I know, irish. I just saw the DVD of "Wag The Dog" again, and she is really luminescent. She had so much presence and was so attractive, she really helped energize the film.
I really like the "Wag The Dog" story, and Robert DiNiro and Dustin Hoffman both did great jobs in it. Anne Heche's character was secondary, but her vibrancy and appearance were startli1c84ng.
"Stupidity got us into this mess, why can't it get us out?"

You'd be really surprise of the monsters(beasts) that truly lurks behind the makeup(masks) of many of hollywood's so-called beautiful women.
