You're using Michael Richards name and calling someone else a mess?
Perhaps the OP just wants to reach out for some sense of community.

Really? Mental illness is not under a persons control. Perhaps you should go to a children's hospital, and laugh at the babies with birth defects.
The thing I hate is that people always say we should have sympathy for the mentally ill, and yet those same people have no sympathy for people they deem as unsympathetic to the mentally ill. Aren't we all just a bit mentally off? And who says that the person one deems as rude and uncaring isn't also that way because of some mental illness, such as psychopathy something (which affect somebody's ability to love and be empathetic)?
So, I say either we have sympathy for everyone or no one. I don't buy the whole idea that we need to sympathize with the mentally ill, and yet lambaste people who are psychopaths or other types, just because they aren't as nice or something. Because are they not also mentally ill?
I know that wasn't the point of your post, but I had to put it somewhere. Because I've read so much recently about sympathizing with the mentally ill, and yet people are always insulting psychopaths and sociopaths and racists, etc. not even realizing that they too are mentally ill. When will these same finger-pointers realize that essentially, no-one can help what they think and how they feel. Where do we draw the line? There shouldn't be a line. There should just always be mercy.
Please excuse typos/funny wording; I use speech-recognition that doesn't always recognize!
