I'll never understand the vitriol some people have for drug users.
It's an addiction. Yes, there are those out there who choose to try drugs and they get hooked; however, there are a large number of people who become users because of various reasons that are out of their control. For example, many addicted to drugs like Heroin become addicted because they experience a physical accident where they have to take pills to ease the pain; they end up getting hooked on said pills which then become too weak for them, thus, cause them to seek out harder drugs. There are also those who suffer from severe mental illnesses or trauma and take drugs to escape.
It's a devastating thing to go through. It's easy to judge when you're not in the shoes of an addict. I hope you or your family never have to go through this.
