he would talk on stage in standup in 2 levels, 2 dimensions. the literal level and the metaphorical level. pulling this off is near impossible bc to think of these ideas making them understandable and digestible to common, average people and making them funny is an extremely rare gift that requires a genius mind. i can't think of any other comedian who has done this.
arcane references to real life world issues is what he did with his commentary hidden in joke materials.
