Altman films (that I've seen thus far):
3 Women (1977) 10/10 Amazing, amazing masterpiece of a film. One of my favourite films of all time.
Fool For Love (1985) 9/10 His most underrated film, IMO. Beautifully shot with great music and is an adaptation of Sam Shepard's play.
Nashville (1975) 9/10 One of his most well-known, unforgettably great music and performances.
Brewster McCloud (1970) 8/10 One of Altman's best casts, IMO. Funny, great scenery, classic Altman.
Short Cuts (1993) 8/10 Very similar structure as Nashville, great cast.
Come Back To The Five And Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean (1982) 8/10 Nice performances with a great twist.
The Player (1992) 8/10 Attractive-looking film with some great cinematography.
McCabe and Mrs. Miller (1971) 8/10 Great film to watch on a snowy day with one of Julie Christie's best performances, beautifully shot.
Thieves Like Us (1974) 7/10 Small cast with some great shots of the South.
A Prairie Home Companion (2006) 7/10 Excellent cast, simple little movie with many character subtleties, good music.
The Long Goodbye (1973) 7/10 A little slow-paced at times, but still great with some nice atmospheric scenes and a small, digestible cast.
Images (1972) 7/10 Nice, small film with symbolic references, though would consider watching Altman's interpretations of select scenes on DVD for additional clarity.
Beyond Therapy (1987) 7/10 Based on a Christopher Durang play of the same name, has a great cast with a simple set with some nice camera work, never understood why this is so loathed!
A Wedding (1978) 7/10 Very large cast, worth a second watch if you want to truly grasp every character's name and story.
A Perfect Couple (1979) 7/10 Altman's most accessible film for the casual movie-goer and contains the least amount of his signature camera work, no big names in this film but worth checking out if you like romantic comedies and late '70s Pop Rock music.
Quintet (1979) 7/10 Was quite surprised at how much I liked it despite the scathing things said about it, has a great cast, give it a chance if you're an Altman fan.
Cookie's Fortune (1999) 6/10 The first 30 minutes are very slow, characters are a bit over-the-top and one-dimensional, probably Altman's most plot-driven film that I've seen, still an enjoyable little film for Altman fans and casual movie-goers.
O.C. and Stiggs (1985) 6/10 Worth watching if you enjoy the '80s Teen genre, fun and enjoyable little movie if you're looking for something light-hearted.
Buffalo Bill and the Indians or Sitting Bull's History Lesson (1976) 6/10 Really hated it the first viewing (was, initially, one of the slowest Altman films I've seen) but reading some historical context and watching it a second time made it better, great cast.
California Split (1974) 5/10 Liked it better than MASH but needs a second viewing, IMO.
MASH (1970) 5/10 Enjoyed the theme song but, overall, just not my personal cup of tea.
