There is something pretentious about admiring Altman for the sake of the fact that he's Altmanand for him, claiming to have an independent streak because it makes one feel special.
Give me less 'independent streak', and more filmmaking.

His output was uneven, and there were a few rotten movies in his vast filmography. But he also directed some really good films and the fact that he could call on big stars for films like The Player etc shows how much appreciated he was in Holywood even though he had an independent streak.

Ugh. Another "worst of all time" post. How original. I'm going to try to explain this to you very simply. "Good" and "Bad" are subjective depending on the person. Just because you think something is "Bad" doesn't make it so therefore stating it as "Fact" is completely erroneous. What is "Bad" to you could be "Good" to someone else. And vice versa.
