I think he was just joking around. But who cares anyway. He did a good job with Chakotay and made star trek watchable for me.

I was wondering if no one is ever reading his personal quotes on his "imdb bio"
I thought Star Trek: Voyager was punishment for everything in my life up till that point. Thanks, dear Lord fb68or the Star Trek gig. -Robert Beltran
I ended up with a half filled bucket of Water when I asked for Whisky

Before meeting him at Expo I
ve also been reading such negatively posts I and didn
t know- will I love him or hate him after the meeting.
I was very glad that he
s such a nice guy. He
s also very good looking in person.
There`s a video from that event at Youtube:
Enjoy!
Voyagerfans, who met Beltran at Fedcon in Germany told me, that Beltran was great there too- funny, friendly, entertaining.

Like others in the thread "RB has a wicked sense of humor" already said- he has that sort of humor.
I met him at London Expo and I can tell you that he doesn
t hate Star Trek or Voyager or his castfellows or Yes, he critisisd some things and I think he
s right. But don
t think he hates ST.There
s that terribly Skitz interview, where he together with the terribly guy is joking about Star Trek. But that is HIS humor.
At London Expo he was grateful, friendly to all fans, he spoke friendly about his castmembers and he liked most part of the show.
And- he was great!!!!
