I was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to share their experience with meeting Linda Blair. I met her for the second time this weekend, and have my own opinion but I wanted to see what others thought, before I shared.

I met her at Flashback Weekend here in Chicago. It's a local horror convention that comes around once a year.
Well, Exorcist is my all time favorite horror film. I always wanted to meet Linda Blair and now was my chance. I waited in line for over an hour with a friend. As we scooched to the front, there were people in front of us getting a picture with her. I was like ok, 20 bucks like usual to meet someone and get their autograph/picture. I was wrong..
It turns out that it was 30 for an autograph and 50 with a picture. I know she was in the Exorcist, but holy crap. It turns out that it was normal prices, but she was advertising her company to help animals and everyone who met her and wanted her autograph HAD to donate to her cause as well. Instead of putting a jar to the side saying, 'hey donate if you like', no everyone, if you liked animals or not, had to donate to her animal cause. It should have been a red flag there.
Two people ahead of us were talking to Linda and she was being super nice to them. These people spent a lot of money to meet her, like over $100 to get like this huge poster, a photo, ect. Well, Linda needed a pen and her assistant (either her personal assistant or probably one that was hired just for that show) was answering questions about the animal cause to the fans. Linda called her name ONCE and after the assistant didn't hear it, Linda started snapping her fingers and saying the girls name super loud. Linda looked super annoyed, but really bitchy at the same time. Even the people she was getting the photo with were looking at each other all weird.
When it came to get my signature, these people were still there making small talk with Linda. I know it's partly their fault that they didn't move on and I get she was being nice, but it took away from my experience. She didn't give me eye contact and was like "What's your name?". I told her and she started talking to the other people again. She then forgets and asks it again. I pay my 30 and took off.
Now, I get that she had a lot on her plate. But how she was with the fans and how everyone had to pay to donate to her cause, I felt a little taken advantage of.

I posted about this in a different thread, but I'll repeat it here for you guys.
She was selling her cookbook at a cult video store in Portland. Some guy brought in an Exorcist poster for her to sign and she held up her book and announced loudly to him (and everyone else), "THIS is the only thing I care about right now!" I'm like, "Okay, sure, I get it but damn, lady, you're making an appearance in a CULT VIDEO STORE." It's not like he attacked her at a health food store and demanded that she talk about playing Regan or something.
Later on, a Filipino woman and her daughter were loitering around the table, kept gushing over "movie star Linda. Movie star Linda." Linda summoned one of the bored hipster girl employees over to the table and declared, "Take this woman and her daughter to the counter and print out a list of Linda's movies FOR CHILDREN."
The girl sort of scoffed: "Um, have you made any?"
I snickered, and Linda shot me a disapproving look. Then turned back to the girl "Uh, yeah, I made something in Romania. I think it was a superhero movie. I'm sure I did. I can't remember what it's called. But I'm sure you have it."
I offered, "And then there's always Savage Streets."
Linda glared at me again.

I met Linda Blair in 1998 while I was working at Tower Records in
N. California. She was at the store to promote the dvd launch of
The Exorcist. And she was there with either her agent or manager.
Imho I came away not one bit impressed with the woman! First of all
I have never been a fan of the actress and she seemed like she
was not really into meeting her fans and signing autographs. She
was not mean nor hostile just not very friendly nor approachable.
She had brough along many posters of the movie which she had signed
and then it was our turn for the store's staff to get some signed.
Well her agent/manager told the crowd that Linda Blair had to get
on board a flight back to Los Angeles and she no longer could sign
any items. Well she offered to bring several posters with her on
her way back home. And promised to sign the whole bunch for the
employees and have the posters mailed back to the store. Well I
never got mine signed and delivered and neither did any of the
other staff members at Tower Records. To this day I just figured
that she was no longer a big star in the 90s and therefore did
not seem to care about her fans nor the staff at Tower. Oh well
I could not care any less about Linda Blair nor if I ever meet
her again! LOL!

CoolI just met her today at the same Exorcist screening, but mine was in Woodridge, IL. Got an autograph and took a picture and had a great time. I decided to talk with her about "Savage Streets" instead of the Exorcist. Poor woman's been talking about the same movie every day of her life since she was twelve. She was friendly and funny, I'm glad I went.

Just came back from the screening of the exorcist and meeting linda.
All I gotta say is she's the nicest most coolest person ever!!!
They were charging $20 for autographs and$20 for pix.
But its ok with me. The profits go to her fundation.
But yeah I had a blast!!!
First me and my friends got in line to meet her, the movie was about to start
But we decided to skip the beginning and just stay in line.
Then it was my turn, I was nervous but ready! Lol
She.signed my blueray cover and said she loved my shirt. I was wearing a marilyn
monroe shirt.
It was so cool!!!
Then after the movie ended she did a Q&A.
Best day ever!!!

I'm meeting her later today (10/28/11) at a screening of the exorcist in naperville IL
I'm nervous and excited to see her!
I just bought the directors cut at walmart for $15 on blueray. Not bad! Lol!
And yeah I heard they will be charging for autographs, but its ok with me.
So wish me luck!
But I totally get that if ur nice and friendly and give celebs their space, that they will
Be nice back to u.
I agree what one person said on here about Linda, she IS only human.
ALL celebs are only human. And at first I didn't want to look at boards like these
Cuz I didn't want to ruin my experience with ppls "bad" experiences.
But now I'm glad I did. It sort of pumped me up even more! Now I can't wait
To meet her!
Ill tell u all about it later!

I met Linda Blair at MonsterMania con 2010 in NJ. She seemed to be in a good mood,i would too if i charged $40 to sign my name
You have to remember when your a star everyone wants something from you and you deal with a lot of A-holessooooo.
Older movie fans tell me about conventions in the 70's and 80's where stars didnt even charge for autographs! While that is great i do believe they should charge something,JUST NOT $40!!!
Blame the dealers who ruined it by having people sign 20 pics then selling them all for profit.

I just met her on saturday at a media expo:
I arrived at about 1:00 pm with my brother. We walked around for a bit, purchased some comics, got organized about where everything was. Then we decided to go down to where most of the guests were.
And sure enough There was Linda Blair's booth.
We decided we aught to go there early, as it would probably get very busy as things progressed. It was a smart move.
Unfortunately, she wasn't part of a photo op. You could bring your own camera if you wished and she would take a photo with you. Sadly, I didn't think that far ahead.
But anyway, we got into line early and waited there. As we inched forward we saw a list of the stuff we could get. Pictures, autographs
and $50 dollars for the single Blu-Ray copy of "The Exorcist" that they displayed + Signature.
So hell! I had $150 bucks to throw at whatever the hell I wanted! And I wanted this!
So I blew $50 on the only copy of "The Exorcist" that they had. It includes the Extended Director's Cut and the Theatrical Version. It's like a book and a movie, really.
So: I bought the Blu-Ray from the nice lady that was assisting Linda Blair, then I got to see her.
Annnnnd I waited 5 minutes while she ordered Lunch. It was pretty funny. She was asking someone to go get her Lunch, but it had to be Vegan (of course). Juice? Yes! Orange? No! Then she said she was just really hungry, and this chick offered her a squished nutrigrain bar from her bag. She said no.
So this guy (he worked there) went off to grab her Lunch and she turned to me and said she'd get to it already. So she asked me for my name and.
http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/6512/lindablair.jpg
So I thanked her and walked off with my brother. I finally own a copy of my favourite film, and it's signed by LINDA BLAIR herself!
So while discussing that with my brother, punching the air in excitement, and realizing how awesome it was We got back in line.
I hadn't really said anything, I felt I should've. She 2000seemed busy and I was extremely nervous. The first famous person I meet is the star of the film I love the most.
So we went back around and said hi. She asked how it was going, and I nervously replied "Pretty good, how about you?" (I kind of stuttered the "Pretty good"). She laughed and said good.
So we talked. I said thanked her for the autograph, told her it was nice to meet her, and told her that "The Exorcist" is my favourite film of all time.
She smiled and told me that I'd like the documentary.
THAT was the best birthday celebration I've ever had.
She was a very nice person and I'm glad to have met her.

Ive met her several times and she has always been very gracious. Shes a very down to earth person which was a relief as Ive been into her for so long and it would have been a heartbreak if she wasnt a nice person. I have a few friend whove had some not so very nice things to say when they met her but I have to wonder how these people approach celebrities and what exactly theyre expecting. She has never been as warm or friendly as she was the first time I met her in 1991and I had a buddy w/ a 35mm camera who Linda was more than happy to take 3 shots with me and not charge me for it-but she has NEVER been anything less than very kind, gracious and appreciative.
Linda Blair is a class act all the way.

I just met Linda Blair this afternoon at Super Mega Fest in Framingham, Ma. She was very kind! I was a little timid to meet her because of some of the stories that people have posted online, but all you really need to know, and remember, is that A. she's a human being and B. she's there to promote her charity. It's big time important to her. So don't be crazy, don't be stupid, don't ask for outlandish things.be respectful to her and her space, and she'll be just as kind to you. She was very sweet, talked to me for a few minutes, I gave some money to her charity, she gave me a leaflet to let me know where my money was going and she wished me a happy thanksgiving! Ha ha, I don't know what more I could have expected from her! It2000 was genuinely nice to meet her.

Again, there is absolutely NO PROOF of thisjust because you say something doesn't make it true, therefore yes what you said is indeed slanderous and you have no proof of how her house is nor what sort of person she is as you have no proof you know her.
Epic fail.
I think she's the saddest girl ever to hold a martini.

Slander is only the passing of false and malicious statements. Blair does, in fact, sleep with several dogs and her house does, in fact, reek of dog urine and feces. She's a pretty horrible human being.

I just happened to be on yahoo and saw this very public display of trash talk. I cannot even remember how I found it now but I was outraged that someone would post something like that. I realize there is a thing called freedom of speech but there are also slander laws which is what this dude and his wife are doing.
I think she's the saddest girl ever to hold a martini.

I think I know who you mean and, yes, it sucks to pass on that kind of info regardless of truth.
"Wow, entertainers AND dancing girls? Is there a buffet as well?"

I love Linda. How was she? Can you tell your story?
When you change someone else's life, you change your own.
