i love so much and more importantly am very relived to find out that this still hasn't happened and it's 7 years later since this was going around.
i cant believe i'm saying this bc mel brooks is one my biggest comedy heroes but if he actually has anything to do with a spaceballs sequel or prequel or remake then i will no longer respect mel brooks and no longer like mel brooks. bc that would be the ultimate betrayal of trust in movie making and the audience and in decency and in filmmaker integrity.
lol bc my friend just said mel brooks making a sequel to spaceballs would be only bc he knows he can make money off of it.
he can't ever make this movie you know. the reason why is 1. john candy is dead. 2. joan rivers is dead. 3. most importantly this is a one off film just like ferris bueller's day off, top gun(which it's a crime they made a sequel to it bc it's a one off film 4. weird science 5. national lampoon's christmas vacation the sad and really tragic thing about hollywood is they will make a sequel to any movie no matter what so the fact they never made a sequel to nlcv is sadly probably only bc you almost can't make a sequel to a christmas movie.
the reason why spaceballs is a one off film is bc it's so epically and legendarily great that a sequel could never even get close to measuring up, being as great as the first film.
by the way the only reason a remake of a movie should ever be made is if you can make the remake better than the original. so it not just you can make the remake different than the original bc if you can make it different then just make your own movie and don't copy another movie by making a remake of a film. movie are always about creativity so if you want to make the most creative film which is the highest standard for a film then this of course means you have to make the most creative film and if you copy another film by making a remake you are not being creative.

if that happens hope it never does god forbid it ever does i hope mel dies right after bc it will be what he deserves. there is a very very good reason why they never made part 2 and it's bc it doesn't need part 2. certain movies are too original too amazingly and epically awesomely classic great films to have a sequel bc the sequel wouldn't live up to the original even half as much and this film is one of those films.

He better hurry it up before he keels over and dies(no offense to Mel) because the dude is insanely old. If Moranis is making the production not happen yet because he's being stubborn with whether he wants to be a part of it or not, then i'll blame if the movie never happens.

Hope they can bring back Moranis as Dark Helmet.
