INT.	SCOTLAND YARD - SIR THOMAS LEGGE OFFICE DAY
Sir Thomas Legge, Assistant Commissioner at Scotland Yard and Inspector Maine sat across from each other at a large desk. Legge throwing pictures of the dead bodies across the desk.
LEGGE (Irritable)
The whole things Incredible!
MAINE (Respectfully)
I know sir.
LEGGE
Ten people on an island and not a living soul. It doesn't make sense!
MAINE
Nevertheless, it happened, sir.
LEGGE
What about the doctor's report?
Maine shook his head no. It stated here how they all died.
LEGGE
Any help from the Sticklehaven people? They must know something?
Again, Maine shook his head.
LEGGE
Who provisioned the island?
MAINE
Man called Morris, Isaac Morris, and he is dead. He represented himself as a Mr. Owensomething about an experiment, a bet about living on a 'deserted island' for a week, and that no notice was to be taken of any appeal for help from out there.
LEGGE
And these people did not smell a rat?
MAINE
You're forgetting, sir, Indian Island previously belonged to some unsavory characters. I've no doubt the local people's eyes fairly popped out over them and are used to it.
LEGGE
What of the gramophone?
MAINE
We are still looking into that. Ordered from a company under the name of U.N. Owen.
LEGGE
And it's recording?
MAINE
Again, still looking into it. Seems like someone was taking the law into their own hands.
Legge slammed his fist against the desk.
LEGGE
This whole thing is fantastic! Ten people killed on a bare rock of an island. But, we still do not know who did it.
MAINE
Well, there is still one question unanswered.
LEGGE
I know what you're going to say, sir. That is was Vera Claythorne. That she shot Lombard, took the revolver back to the house, toppled the marble stone onto Blore and hanged herself.
Maine shook his head.
MAINE
The chair was not found kicked over. It was, li5b4ke all the other chairs, neatly put back against the wall.
LEGGE
Therefore, sir, there must have been someone else on the island.
Legge leaned over the desk.
LEGGE
Who killed them?
CUT TO:
EXT.	SCOTLAND YARD MAIN BUILDING MORNING
The master of the Emma Jane boat walked into the large front doors of Scotland Yard holding a letter.
CUT TO:
INT.	SCOTLAND YARD SIR THOMAS LEGGE OFFICE MORNING
The master of the Emma Jane handed over to Inspector Legge a letter and bottle he found earlier that week on the shores of Sticklehaven.
Legge sat down and opened the letter and turned toward a window and began to read.
Close in slowly on Legges face as he begins to reads the letter.
FADE TO:
EXT.	INDIAN ISLAND DAY
We see someone toss a bottle with a letter inside into the sea. We cannot t4ell if the person is a man or woman.
LEGGE (V.O.)
From my earliest youth I realized that my nature was a mass of contradictions. I have, to begin with, an incurably romantic imagination. The practice of throwing a bottle into the sea with an important document inside was one that never failed to thrill me. So, with that I am writing my confession, enclosing it in a bottle, sealing the latter, and casting it into the waves. There is a chance it may never be found - and then - if b68found an unsolved murder mystery will be explained.
FADE TO:
INT.	LEGGES OFFICE DAY
Legge kept reading his eyes fixated on the paper. Words began to overlap in his mind until he came to a certain part of the letter.
LEGGE (V.O.)
Then, the idea came to me; a murder committed which the law was unable to touch. That was the beginning of the whole thing. Then I thought to myself how many cases are out there of a similar nature. How many people did get away with murder? Deliberate murder, and all quite untouchable by the law. I wanted to commit not only one murder, but a murder on a grand scale.
FADE TO:
INT.	INDIAN ISLAND DINING ROOM DAY
The same person sitting at the table with ALL the China Indian figures missing. In the center of the table. The person is writing the letter Legge is reading and they are wearing black gloves. We still cannot see if it is a man or woman.
LEGGE (V.O.)
A childish rhyme from my infancy came back into my mind - the rhyme of the ten little Indian boys. Then I began to select my victims, how I selected them is not important, but in that they all were guilty, and they themselves got away with murder.
FADE TO:
INT.	LEGGES OFFICE DAY
Legge's eyes grew.
LEGGE (V.O.)
Now to the acts of Indian Island. I used dead man Morris to acquire the Island, also to cover my tracks, was easy enough. It worked out perfectly.
FADE TO:
EXT.	EMMA JANE BOAT DAY
The group is being taken by the boat to Indian Island. They are all fascinated by the American Indian profile of the island.
LEGGE (V.O.)
Everyone arrived on August 8th. The party included myself. By then Morris was accounted for. He suffered from indigestions. Before leaving London I have him a capsule to take, he accepted unhesitatingly - that man was a slight hypochondriac. The order of death on the island had been subjected by me
