In the 1990s, Cindy Crawford was one of the most recognizable people on the planet. She was on every magazine cover and walked every runaway, and by 1995 she was the worlds highest paid model. Shes also credited as being one of the five original supermodels, alongside Christy Turlington, Linda Evangelista, Tatjana Patitz and Naomi Campbell, who all appeared in George Michaels David Fincher-directed Freedom! 90 music video.
The videos makeup director, Carol Brown, recalls Crawford walking across that studio so fearlessly and proudly and not making any sort of a big deal that she was wearing only a G-string. Its hard to tell what Crawford was wearing on last nights Lip Sync Battle, where she recreated her Freedom! 90 steamy bathtub look for George Michael impersonator Zachary Quinto, but its not much. And it required a lot of tasteful blurring.
Can you blame her? Crawford looks the same in 2016 as she did in 1996. Its typically sad when people, especially in the entertainment industry, try to recreate the past decades later, but not Crawford. She can parody her iconic Pepsi commercial, and hop back into a bathtub while George Michael and/or Zachary Quinto sing about freedom, because she hasnt aged a day.
The Gang could learn a thing or two from her.
