He tends to play odd and/or curmudgeonly roles, and by all objective measures he never was leading-man handsome. But there's something very charismatic about him, I think. Can't wait to see him in the upcoming Dante's Inferno. Something about the way he carries himself, I think . . . . L.A. Confidential, Babe, The Queen, Six Feet Under very different roles, and yet I couldnt' take my eyes off him! Yikes!
I'm a vindictive little bitch, truth be told!

He is attractive to me because he chose to live his life with compassion. That's a big contributor to his appeal, imo.

I saw him only in LA Confidential, I can't believe but he caught my eye. He is not beautiful, but he was charismatic in that film, and had a very good voice. Strangely attractive.

I have followed his career ever since I saw him on the hit tv show "All in the Family". He played one of Archie's "dock buddies", "Stretch Cunningham", if I recall correctly. He has been one of my favorite character actors for over 30 years (he and Todd Sussman/Susman).

I agree! I'm on a James Cromwell kick right now, after I saw him as Captain Dudley Smith in LA Confidential in film class.I just finished watching Star Trek: First Contact and Babe. He's such an amazing actor and I can't get enough of his voice. There is auch a caring, almost paternal quality to it. Not only is he a terrific actor, but also a vegetarian and an animal rights activist. What a sweet guy!

James Cromwell is proof positive that looks have nothing to do with talent.
Or charisma. I'm not a girlie but i do like him somehow. There's something about him.
I had the biggest crush on him in Babe when I was a little girl
Wow, that's weird.
