Does anyone know if there is a name for the open wound that Cronenberg has had repeat in a lot of his films. From Rosanna Arquette's leg in CRASH to Marilyn Chambers' vampiric armpit to the lower back jack ports in EXISTENZ. I've wondered for years of the origin of this body horror device and what meaning it might have for Cronenberg.
Weird topic, I know. But I can't really find info on it otherwise. And look whose board we're on!

Well, duh. But I meant in the Cronenberg lexicon. In a way they are creature designs not unlike xenomorphs from ALIEN.
