I've seen almost none of his acting work, but I was taken by it when I was watching an old film by Gus Van Sant, TO DIE FOR. DC plays the hitman at the end, and I noticed that at that point in his life he looked like a refined and more intelligent, as well as more deeply sinister, version of George Segal, who has a role earlier in the film as a crude TV personality.
I think it might have been a private joke between DC and GVS. It certainly made a nice play on character and theme.
That film, BTW, is some of Nichole Kidman's best work, and the only time I have seen Joaquin Phoenix when he wasn't either grossly miscast or grossly overacting.
I miss River.
Anyone else have any comment on DC's acting work?

Buttonface was hardly a minor role. He's the main protagonist and steers many of the major story events. Without him this story is about a man who gets therapy gets better marries the girl he loves happily ever after. And the world continues none the wiser to the existence of the Nightbreed. I also agree with OP that Cronenburg was one the better things in the movie. Buttonface is one of my favorite villains.

His is a minor role, but don't forget to see Blood & Donuts!

You should really try and see 'Nightbreed'. Not only is Cronenberg the best thing about that movie, but he's even creepier than you'd expect him to be.
