I was doing messenger work in a building in Century City Ca. I stepped into the elevator to go up and he jumped through the doors at the last minute. I saw him outside the elevator before but didn't recognize him at first.
It was just us two in the elevator and I finally turned and recognized him, shook his hand and said I was a fan.He was a nice guy then I left and made my delivery.
I just sadly found out that he had a stroke three years ago. Never in a million years would I have guessed that he would have a stroke. He was always so full of life and wit.
Coincidentally they had (and probably still have) a Rocky Horror Picture Show marathon at a theater on the same street many blocks down from where I met him. I'm not a 'Rocky Horror' fan but was still honored to meet him as with other stars I've met.

I wonder if he knew about the Rocky Horror Movie marathon at the Nuart Theater that was going on just a few miles away on the same street.

That's awesome.
I met Harry Morgan (of MAS*H fame) once in a gas station.
I didn't recognize him at first, but I was getting coffee and he asked if the brew was any good.
I told him that it smelled like it was about a day old. And he said that he was all right with that.
By the time I did recognize his it would have been too late to fan-geek-out on him. Just kept it casual.
[Edit; Got a little generous with the *s, there.]
