Hes up there. I've SEEN worse though, addiction wise. I have a lot I can relate. After reading the book I found I have a lot in common with my favorite comedian.

In the middle of the book now.
Chris Farley might just be the single most troubled individual I've heard of.
Addictions crazy out-of-control.

I just bought it, found it in the bargain bin for $5. Wow, what a trainwreck of an existence. I felt sorry for Chris, how can anyone be that self-destructive? He was addicted to half a dozen things that will kill you; heroin, alchohol, food, cigarettes, it just goes on and on. Calling up friends at six in the morning to come down to the bar? Totally out of control insane. That time he fell through a glass window 12 stories up and was only saved from plunging to his death by the radiator?
Dude heard voices in his head!!?? That's batsh!t crazy drug abuse right there my friends!
And the Hollywood people who did anything but help him. Lorne Michaels pimping him out to Paramount. Studio Execs amping him up to make Beverly Hills Ninja, etc.
They talked about sending him away for a year, the most extreme method available. Of course, they couldn't get permission and I honestly think that if they did it wouldn't have worked. Chris was on a one way suicide trip and he knew it. It was so, so sad to have Norm MacDonald quote Chris near the end of his life "Why is life so cruel? Why is life so cruel?"
"There is no Hollywood any more, there's just a bunch of banks"

Yes exactly. I wonder what Shrek would have been with him. I never saw the ones with Mike Myers though

I just got finished reading it. It is a really good book and love how it is set up. Very interesting look into his life and the people who knew him. Although I was a little depressed after reading it and all I could think about was where his career would be today if he was still alive and what movies he would have been in.

I have not read it. I've heard that the
Live From New York
book had some interesting stuff about Chris in it as well. I've been thinking a lot about him lately so I'm considering picking both of those up.

Other than the obvious, & the cost, I don't really know. I have a hardback copy (thanks, Tom!) & I bought a couple of copies to give to friends. I haven't heard that there was any difference, though, & don't imagine there would be.

I agree, & I suggest any Chris Farley fan should buy it, either the hardback or the paperback copy, or both! You could always give one to another fan!
