There were no rumors that she would have been "fired" primarily because there would be no reason to fire her as her contract had expired. Berman wanted her to simply renew her contract as all the other cast members had, but she was not interested in returning in the same capacity for the final season.

Maybe she wasn't fired as such, but there were definitely problems between her and Rick Berman (mentioned many times in interviews) and the rumours said, that if she hadn't left by herself, she would've been fired for sure.

No, she wasn't. She didn't renew her contract because she wanted to pursue other career paths and not being tied to Dax. AFAIR, she already had the offer for Becker when she decided she would quit DS9.
