I never really cared fr her character, but the other characters in the show did care deeply for her. From the beginning, I disliked the whole Dax symbiot thing where she was 300-some years old or whatever
Anyway, Ezri was absolutely horrible. She was a bad addition to the cast and a horrible way for the writers to fill the void left by Jadzia.
So why did Terry choose to leave?

Her original six year contract was up. She always intended to do DS9 for six years then move on. I think it was basically a carrer move, nothing to do with any bad feelings towards the producers or the cast of DS9. The show was coming to an end and she had the opportunity to move on and do Becker with more years of work guaranteed. If I was in her shoes I think i would have done the same thing, thinking of my carrer. But still would have preferred Jadzia in the final season
