I don't know if Brad Renfro was ever photographed by Bob Villard (although like many teen boy actors, he was often photographed shirtless), however, there is a connection via former child actor Brock Pierce and director Bryan Singer. Villard spent a lot of time photographing Pierce when he was a kid; Bryan Singer, who directed Renfro in
Apt Pupil
(1998), introduced Pierce to Marc Collins-Rector, who along with his partner Chad Shakley founded the internet company DEN, which was a front for a pedophile ring used to lure in boy actors. Collins-Rector is now a registered sex offender, although his whereabouts are currently unknown. Brock Pierce was undoubtedly part of the ring, b68using his connections in the industry to help procure victims for not only Collins-Rector but investors in the company (of which Bryan Singer was one).
Singer is also connected to Brian Peck; Peck had a minor role in the first
X-Men
film and Singer and Peck recorded the DVD commentary together shortly before Peck was arrested and convicted for molesting a boy actor (whose identity is still protected to this day).

I just saw an interview for the documentary An Open Secret and Bob Villard was selling photos on eBay of child stars head shots for higher prices. He's definitely mentioned as being involved. Going to have to see the doc to hear more on it now that I know he is mentioned!

That's really interesting. I've been trying my damnedest to figure out Corey's first abuser, and I knew Marty Weiss was also one of th, but didn't know about Bob. The reason this never comes out is because it IS hollywood's biggest secret! I think it happens a LOT more than we would think and might be behind the reasons for a lot of these OD's, meltdowns, etc because once these people are done with these kids, they throw them away like trash once they get too old. Corey's death devastates me, and I understand it might be dangerous to name names, but I'm hoping that in the near future more people will speak up. Maybe with the release of 'the open secret' doc, more names and info will be discovered or made known. Keep us updated!

How come not one of them was able to speak up? Is it because they feared it would cause them to never be able to work again in the industry? How come those who know who the molesters are can not speak up on the victims' behalf?
