One of our residents who moved in about a year ago looks, acts and talks just like him. If you all here could hear him you'd agree. Same size and build too.
He's actually around the same age PSH would be now as well. Just eerie.
Now, this person is a huge investor/trust fund baby but for a week I thought that maybe it could be PSH in hiding. The dude is a huge booze/pill/cokehead too but is highly intelligent, though a bit dramatic at times.
PSH was a good actor though. Who knows? It could be him.
Coming back en 2026-Viva Venezuela!

I haven't read any of Harris's novels. Do you know if the
Red Dragon
ending in the film is lifted from the novel and
Manhunter
changed the ending to the stakeout/shootout one they filmed?
I like the randomness of the
Manhunter
ending. It was still fraught with danger and Will needed to get his man before he got to the blind girl.
Red Dragon
was a prequel and Hopkins looked too old. Cox played his small Lecter role with subtle intensity and creepiness that underscored just how terrifying Toothie was.
Norman! What did you put in my tea?

He didn't do comedies or really any fun roles which is why I didn't care for him.
And I so agree with you guys.
Red Dragon is overrated while the far superior Manhunter is underrated.
Hopkins overacts in his role of Handball Lickedher while Brian Cox played it subtle which was perfect and how it should be.
The ending was also better.
No need to stretch it out and have Toothie show up at the house threatening the son.

Again, as mentioned above the only scene that stands out (To us at least) is Philip Hoffman getting torched
I would be interested in seeing what someone who appreciates cinema thinks of Red Dragon and Man Hunter if they saw them in that order (And with some time between to enjoy each separately).

Interesting question, yet even without Manhunter point of reference, Red Dragon and Hannibal would still be compared to Silence Of The Lambs.
I go by film-making sense of aesthetic and impact/impression. Those that haven’t seen Manhunter would give a different perspective into Red Dragon.
