Personally, I loved her in "Now and Then", however, her acting in the movie "Volcano" sucked major. When her leg caught on fire, she was like a really bad actress, not even sounding like she was in pain. Also, when the tower was being blown up, she was just plain terrible, yelping like she was in a 5th grade production of the movie. She sounds like she has no passion for the role she was playing in that movie.
Very bad movie for her. Terrible acting. Very dissappointing.

It was probably just the movie. I haven't seen Volcano, but she was great in Now and Then and Whose Daguter is She. Brilliant, actually.

Volcano was a stupid movie and her bad acting could be a product of bad directing and bad script. I don't think one bad film should be held against an actor. IMO, of course.

I disagree. Although the kids and the grandmother sucked in "Dante's Peak," the acting was lightyears better than this crap. How the hell did Tommy Lee Jones every get saddled into this turkey???

Just cause she didnt do a particularly good job in one movie doesn't mean you 2000should label her as a terrible actress. Every other movie that i've seen her in has been really good and she did a really good job. In Volcano I didn't see her performance as being that bad, although it's been awhile since I've seen it.

She signed to do a movie, collected a fat paycheck and then did a terrible job because that's how it's supposed to be?!

You miss the point. Those kinds of movies are never known for the great performances given by the actors. Those movies (disaster movies) are never supposed to be taken seriously and you are not supposed to be impressed by her performance.
