I live in New Brunswick, Canada a small province which rarely gets a Hollywood production shot within its borders. But "Copperhead" is being produced here mostly because the bulk of it is being shot at Kings Landing Provincial Park, a park with 1800s background and costumes.
At any rate, Jason Patric is being replaced by Billy Campbell in the lead role:
http://www.deadline.com/tag/jason-patric/
I posted a longer message on the "Copperhead" IMDB link;
http://www.imdb.com/board/12404555/
about Mr. Patric not talking to anyone on the set, and complaining about his suite at a hotel near Kings Landing. Admittedly, New Brunswick's rural areas are a backwater with little to do, but my hometown of Fredericton, NB is no mecca for fun seekers.
Copperhead is being directed by the same director who did "Gettysburg" and "Gods and Generals", but I imagine it is a small budget production. The shooting schedule is only for five weeks.

Hey Jillaneskent FYI "TickleBMe" is just one of Jason Patric's (many) alter egos online. His other one on imdb is "fissurecream. You can check it out here. http://www.imdb.com/user/ur21172761/boards/profile/

The film was entitled Walker Payne. My daughter started the film but was injured when she accidentally ran into a parked car while riding her bike. She took a role as a series regular in NBC's Surface instead. One has to marvel at the animus displayed in your post. Do you engage in ad hominems because your intellect endows you with little else or are you simply a Patric fanboy/girl?

I agree. A films release can be put off for several years at times. So I always assume a film's release date to be at least a year after its "filmed" date. Not sure if what is said about Patric is true but he is one fine actor, obnoxious or not.

A movie listed as '2006',5b4 would have been shot in 2005.

My daughter worked with him in 2005. He is, by far, one of the most surly and least gracious actors I've ever had the "pleasure" of meeting. His demands to the production assistants closely resembled that of an old world plantation owner with his slaves.
