With so many supporting fans, I just wish he was offered better films.

You may be right, but that's not the information I got years ago from a Hollywood insider.

Mickey NEVER used any kind of drugs, and even Carre Otis confirms that in her book "Beauty disrupted". Carre was the one with a heroin problem and Mickey took her to rehabilitation center in Mexico.

Oh,yeah. Back when he looked so good. He and Carre both (that's probably how she stayed thin - she's been a plus-size model since.) Heroin preserves, they say.

I so love this wild, self-destructive man. He proved in The Wrestler that he still has the chops he always had, but I guess his legendary difficulties with producers, directors, etc. still keep him from being offered the top roles. He is so ruined and still so appealing. Bad plastic surgery, even when required by boxing, did him no favors but he keeps on doing it. Years of heroin abuse didn't help any. He hoped for ten years that Carre Otis would come back to him, but to no avail. Except for his Golden Globe for The Wrestler, he's never been recognized for all the brilliant film work he's done. To this day, ever since Wild Orchid (possibly the sexiest film ever made), I have wanted to put his head on my shoulder and somehow take away his pain. God only knows what his 2014 boxing match (at 62) did to him, and why, Mickey? WHY?
