I didn't realize until recently that John Sayles wrote the screenplay for the 1981 werewolf movie
The Howling
. Well, he co-wrote it with Terence H. Winkless. It is one of my childhood/early teenage favorites.
Has Sayles ever spoken about his experiences working on
The Howling
? Has he ever mentioned how much of the script was his writing as opposed to Winkless's?

The final product was mostly Sayles, and he is on the special features of the movie, at least on my edition. Winkless had a version closer to the book (which wasn't any good, the book that is) and Sayles came in and gave it a big make-over for the better. He also plays the doctor in the morgue.
