If you are a fan of John Sayles, and watch "The Abyss", you notice the amount of actors that have worked with John Sayles and appear in that movie. Is there a connection between the stock actor company that John Sayles usually works with, people that he prefer and obviously enjoy working with, and actors acting in The Abyss? What is the connection?
Cameron and Sayles have worked together on only one film, and that was early in their respective career:
http://www.imdb.com/board/10080421/
but other than that, these people in The Abyss had previously worked with, or would go on to work with John Sayles:
Mary Elisabe5b4th Mastrantonio: Limbo
Leo Burtmester: Passion Fish, Lone Star, Limbo
Todd Graff: City of Hope
Kimberly Scott: Shannons Deal (Tv-series, created by John Sayles)
Ken Jenkins: Matewan
Chris Elliot: Lianna
It's an enigma. Please put some light on this question.
