After Richard Harris died, if you aren't going to grab Ian McKellan, I think Stamp would've been a solid choice. He is a very good actor with the type of demeanor required of the character. He would've easily been better than Gambon.

Agreed, I adore Bill Nighy, but I think he's all wrong for Scrimgeour. Terence would've been perfect.

yes he is a good actor, but if he played dumbledore it would just make his career flop miserably and hes getting old,
hes a LEGEND man, great villain as General Zod
the Harry Potter saga has just turned into a mess of CGI anyway
