You thought an actress who played an adult on a TV series 20 years ago was 30? Seriously?

No offense because she's awesome, but she definitely looks her age. I can see how kids wouldn't be able to tell, but to adults she looks like a woman in her healthy late forties, and there's nothing wrong with that at all, but she does NOT look 30. At all.

How could she be in her 30s? DS9 premiered in 1993. Nana would have had to been a teenager or perhaps young 20s to still be in her 30s today.

sunsnake, I think speculator's point was that it's silly to imagine she is now only around 30, because she was clearly already a grown woman during DS9. I would think, though, that the OP's shock at her true age probably is, indeed, due to either being quite young or simply not being a Trek watcher.

If she was 30 now, then when she started playing Kira in DS9 (14 years ago!) she would have been 16!

So true. I am sure it is being a dancer and staying young with the kids and younger husbands. She looks fantastic no matter what the reason. I just wish she would come back and do some more Broadway before too long.

and her husband now is thirteen years younger.
You're thinking of this guy?
http://www.imdb.com/board/20727293/
I don't think that's her husband. That Matthew Rimmer is an actor who lives in LA. Nana's husband Matthew Rimmer was CHICAGO's company manager, and I think I've read they live in New Mexico now.
Pain is to pleasure as disco is to punk. You need to live through one to fully appreciate the other.

Nana is a dancer.
Dancers generally have very healthy bodies with good muscle development that helps them maintain good health all their lives.
They also try to establish and maintain a daily exercise program that keeps good muscle tone, good posture, etc.
Add the fact that a program of aerobic exercise is generally very good for the complexion and all vital organs, and they have an almost perfect regimen to remain very healthy and youthful looking for many years.
As Ive been saying for many years, people who look youthful when they are way past 50 have to WORK at it. There are no pills, powders or potions that make it easy to look forever young.

She does have that great 1908bone structure which ages well, and she keeps marrying younger men, too. Alexander Siddig was eight years younger, and her husband now is thirteen years younger.
