For the ones who doesn't know, Argento is participating as director in a film called "The Sandman". I only discovered the project a few days ago and from what I read it was initially planned to be released last year but the producers had some problems and didn't manage to meet this deadline.
It's being hard to find more info about the project. In it's IMDB page the current status is still mentioned as pre-production, what kind of frustrated me. Nonetheless, I got more excited about the film after reading a interview with Argento, in special due to what he said here:
One of the reasons I accepted to work with crowd funding is to re-catch full creative freedom, as I had at the time of the early films you mentioned. I cant say if The Sandman will have the same territorial trajectory but definitely it will have the same taste and atmosphere of those early films. I think that the audience that appreciated my early work will love it.
)
So, what do you people think about it? Does anyone have more info about how the things are going with this project?

I look forward to this but since his films never make it to theaters in my area I will have to check it out on video so it will be even longer than that for me.

They've set the start of the shooting (once again), this time to November. I'm beginning to think that we'll be lucky if it actually come out next year and not only in 2018.

I doubt it will be out by Christmas. 2017 at the earliest (if they actually start production this year).

I've also read that they're going to start filming it in the summer. It scares me a bit because if they want to release it until this Christmas, the production is possibly going to be hasty what is not a good sign.

It is frustrating that no updates have been found and nothing from Argento either. The only info I can find is that filming has been pushed back a few times, with it reportedly going to happen this summer in Canada. I won't hold my breath
