<p dir="auto">I would like to know the name of this 30's movie in which Mr Barrymore plays a lawyer (I think) with a secretary who manages his affairs while all along secretly in love with him and of course he doesn't realize this until the end. All sorts of women keep calling his office to try to get some time with him but this blonde secretary keeps fending them off while managing to make sure he keeps his more important appointments. I remember this one woman, a former lover, who keeps calling from her bathtub. I remember he was dating a former secretary who comes to the office. The blonde secretary does a real fine job managing his affairs. Finally at the end of the movie, Barrymore realizes what a wonderful woman this secretary is, and really cares for him. I believe I saw this one on TCM within a year or so but didn't see it listed among his filmography credits. I sure hope someone remembers the name of this movie and the terrific blonde secreratry who rattles off line after line of very difficult dialogue and remembers word for word what was relayed to her over the phone. I think the whole movie took place in the lawyer's office, probably from an adapted play.</p>

<p dir="auto">"Counsellor-at-Law" was actually 1933. He also played another lawyer role the year before called "State's Attorney". "Counsellor" is one his best films.</p>
