In 1982 I worked for my uncle in Monroe, CT pumping gas at his Texaco station. I remember my uncle making a big deal about Ms. Baxter when she'd come in. Very nice lady - I'm sorry that I didn't get to appreciate her work until after she passed. Just watched The Blue Gardinia last night.

Yes Anne Baxter was always worth watching whatever the part. Her performance in "All About Eve" was a standout and though it was overshadowed by Bette Davis and the others, her cool, calm, collected performance is at the centre of the storm.

You people are lucky to have been able to correspond with her and I am a bit envious. I just "discovered" her after watching "All About Eve" for the first time this year and now I am a huge fan of her's and have been watching every film she is in that comes on cable. I was very sad to find out that she passed away and how it happened.
Oddly, the first thing I ever saw her in was the 60's Batman series where she played in a couple of episodes. Back then, i was just a little kid and didn't know Anne Baxter, Vincent Price, Burgess Meridith and others on the show were huge stars in their time. Imagine my surprise though when I learned that Anne was the lady who played "Zelda the Great" on Batmanlol
Beautiful lady and a great actress who I thought added a little bit of "edginess" but also grace to her characters.

You're lucky PeterPizzazz!! I knew Miss Baxter through fan mail. I would write her and she would send me beautiful signed photos, dedicated to me. Back in 1971, I saw her on Broadway in APPLAUSE, the musical based on All About Eve.
And wasn't The Blue Gardenia great?! One of my favorites, foll5b4owed by One Desire.
