I don't think I've seen cherry flavoured Pepsi. I would sometimes get a hankering for vanilla Coke, but I've had the real deal made with fountain coke and vanilla syrup so it spoiled me for anything else.

The only diet soda I quite like is the cherry flavoured Pepsi max they serve at cineworld here.

I think Pepsi is sweeter than Coke. With Coke, you can taste more individual flavours, but with Pepsi, it tastes overwhelming like sweetness without any flavours.
I don't drink sugary drinks very often either. I might get a diet Pepsi if I'm out at a restaurant, but usually it's club soda with lime.

In the UK (and pretty much all of Europe) with the sugar tax they have halved the sugar and calorie content in Pepsi, basically making it undrinkable. If I have a Coke or a Pepsi, I want the full shebang, and I'll factor it into my macros. You're left with this insipid product that resembles something leaking out of Shooter's chocolate starfish.
Either do something properly or don't do it at all.

The store brand does have a slightly off taste, but it still satisfies the diet soda craving.

I remember drinking the store-brand sodas as a kid and they always tasted "off" to me. It harkens back to things like RC Cola. Do you get that brand where you are?

Diet Pepsi the best. Husband often buys some cheap brand called Diet Big K's or something like that and only Diet Pepsi when on sale. I use to not be able to tell one brand apart from the other (even the cheap brand), but after a while of using one then going back to Diet Pepsi, I definitely know a difference. I have learned to adapt though to whatever he buys lol.
