Halle Berry should be cast in more serious dramatic roles. What happened to Tulia, the project that would have cast Halle as a lawyer working to exonerate innocent black men from trumped-up drug charges?
How come it's only white Best Actress winning actresses like Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Lawrence and Cate Blanchett who continue to find decent work in major Hollywood projects, whilst black Best Actress winning actresses are reduced to working on TV?

Harvey, do you deliberately choose to start posts on topics where you know you will get some attention and get others to bite? I don't believe you even care and are narcissistic, self-centered and play the devil's advocate and not very well I might add.
Halle Berry is an average acting talent and the year she won her Oscar, was a poor year for contenders. She was lucky to win and it was the year the Oscars were honoring blacks. I am not a fan of Kidman, Lawrence or Blanchett; but it is not difficult to see that they are stronger acting talents than Berry. Now stop pretending to stand up for the rights of minorities, when you are being 2000insincere and self-serving.
Don't eat the whole ones! Those are for the guests.

Actually she just said she thinks her Beauty hindered her success. Not the fact she is not really that good or that interesting of an actor.

Kidman was getting them for a lot longer post her Oscar-win. Rabbit Hole was only a few years ago, and although it wasn't a success, the recent remake of The Secret in Their Eyes was clearly intended to appeal to more discerning audiences.

She is almost 50 and she is Black. What do you expect?? There arent many roles for women in that category.238 Her career went downhill after Catwoman. The film was truly awful. She is lucky to even be working at all after that.

This is good news but I hope she gets more serious high-profile parts after this. Surely there must be, or at least should be, plenty of dramatic parts for black women of a certain age.

Nah, i disagree with that. The Call was fun thriller and easy crowd-pleasing film. Cloud Atlas was her best film and Character post her Oscar win. Her Role as Luisa Rey reminded me so much of one of my personal favorite Meryl Streep roles "Karen Silkwood". I thought it was so cool watching her as this crusading journalist.
