Danny Boyle appeared at a Q&A session at the Aero Theater in Santa Monica, California this evening and he was asked if a third "28 Days" film was in the works. He said at the moment he is giving a sequel to "Trainspotting" top priority and that there are no current plans to work on a "28 Days" sequel.
Sorry guys.

This makes me so happy.
I'm pretty sure it'll be another cast of unknowns, though. 28 Days Later has comics and so far they've been following Selena. While Jim and Hannah have only been seen in flashbacks, I think (and hope) they will turn up at some point.

I don't think they're even going to consider "writing off" 28 Weeks Later. For one thing, it is a superb movie. More importantly, both Boyle and Garland were executive producers. The movie was fairly successful and they seem proud of it in the interviews I have seen.
But it doesn't really matter anyway because this franchise is built off a single event resulting in a threat that leaves a lot of flexibility for all kinds of sto5b4ries, featuring an infinite number of survivors.
All this means, Boyle and Garland are not tied to 28 Weeks Later very much. They're not even tied to 28 Days Later and knowing these two, they will take the initial rage virus threat and go in a totally new and bold direction. They just need a really good story to make it work and that's what the two first installments had going for them.

It'd be better off without him cuz:

Part of the appeal of the story is that the cast is full of relative unknowns

There has been no recurrent characters so far and I think it should stay that way as much as possible (though if they can bring someone back without being overly cliche, then good as well!)
The Joker: You prefer a magic trick, instead? Watch me make this pencil disappear

Great news! As for 28 Weeks, it was a great action zombie-flick but doesn't compare much to 5b428 Days. Also, I don't want the producers to discard 28 Weeks it is a worthy sequel and with 28 Months, they can fix and make the whole thing more pleasing and appealing.
As long as it doesn't end up like a Resident Evil movie, I'll be more than happy!

Haha, well the entire second movies was pretty much written around the kids. There were parts about the second movie that were good. I really enjoyed the first part when the father was in the farm house. A few other aspects were interesting, but I would prefer to see them do another film that has nothing to do with the second's story line.

So if Danny Boyle is directing, and Alex Garland is writing, I hope that they just write off 28 weeks later. They should come into this project like the second movie never happened and make this be the real sequel. I am super excited about this project, and hope to hear more news about it really 111csoon. My guess is that once the hype around 127 Hours dies down we will get more info.
