Has he ever played a preacher or priest in a movie? I think he 111cwould be great in a role as a wild and crazy pastor at some Protestant church. He has the looks and behavior for such a character.

Yes, on at two occasions I know of. The Hitchhiker (actually won an award for it) and The Outer Limits.
