He's not the greatest actor of all time, but he's certainly not the worst! Go rent some movies by Lorenzo Lamas and you might re-think that statement.

I can't stand it when I see comments about different actors saying "he's the worst actor EVER" seriously, have you seen every show/movie by all the different actors out there? Don't think so.everything I've seen Dean in he has been great in my opinion. He was really good in Out of Time even though he wasn't in it a lot, he's was GREAT in the Stacie Petterson movie. You can't think of anyone worse? Ha let's see Steven Segal is terrible, Paul Walker is pretty bad but I still like him. There are many far worse actors. Who cares if he does TV movies, I'm sure he is making more money than you ever will and he's staying very busy.
I hate too when I see comments of people saying how they don't like someone or think an actor is terrible and say they can't understand why anyone would like them like everyone should be agreeing with you! You need to watch more movies though.

Keep in mind also that his parents are in the business and his first few acting jobs were because of that. He has been in several movies simply because his dad directed them. He basically was born into the business, the door was swinging wide open for him when he was ready to walk through it.
I never thought he was that good looking either, although he has gotten better looking with age.

If there are thousands of equally good-looking actors competing in Hollywoodwith more talentwhy go with the one with less talent? I never understood that.
And I never even thought Cain was that greatlooking,or defined how Superman is supposed to look. Are we sure he didn't sleep with somebody? It's not like he was so uniquely greatlooking that they couldn't resist hiring him.

Ok,explain this to me: they are casting for a TV show(or whatever) and have thousands of would-be actors to choose from, and for some freaky reason, they go out of their way to choose an 'awful' actor. And because he is supposedly awful, he keeps working for another 30 yrs.
I see threads like this on all the boards, and wonder why,in this extremely competitive business,with millions of the networks' money and their own reputation as producers to risk, that they would do this. What, was he the only one who fit Batman's tights, or was so indispensable?
I am not judging Cain's acting one way or the other, just asking a hypothetical question. Are these threads created by people who are in the business?

Dean Cain has amazing character and spirit when playing a role. In everything I have seen him in he gives off such great energy and charisma unlike any actor I have seen. I have seen many movies and I am a huge fan of Lois & Clark. Most roles he plays in have not been huge, but I do believe the roles he chooses and the work he does to support his family is a definition of his character and that is by far what attracts me to watching anything he plays in. If you are reading this Dean, I have to say, I am a huge fan of yours and would love to meet you some day!

Granted, there aren't a lot of "Award Winning" movies on his resume', but, the fact that he decides on which movie to do based on how much time he can spend with his son, makes him a class act in my book. You can take your A-List Hollywood stars and keep them. I prefer to watch someone that has honor and integrity. He seems like the "Normal guy next door." Even the paps dub him "Nice Guy, Dean Cain." He's the type of man you can look up to. Where Hollywood is full of "Guys", Dean shows what a "Man" is. I say keep up the good work. He'll always have a fan with me.

I like him as an actor. Part of being an actor is to entertain us right. That's exactly what he does. I've seen almost all of his movies. I personally find him easier to watch than some of the more well known Hollywood actors out there. I find the fact that he puts his family first, before his career, honorable. You can tell he isn't out to make a buck. He volunteers and donates to many charitable organizations. I like the fact that he does so many different types of movies. I think that Dean Cain is a desperate actor that'll take almost any role that comes his way. However, I never thought of him as a BAD actor, either. My favorite 2 roles of his are guest-starring parts. 'Law & Order: SVU' Season 7's episode "Starved". He was a serial-rapist/heart surgeon & he did a really good job in the role. Also (much more recently) he was in the 'Criminal Minds' Season 7 episode "Snake Eyes" as a compulsive gambler/serial killer, in which he actually did a great job. He played off of Matthew Gray Gubler & Joe Mantegna. Cain is just a desperate actor, trying to make a living & doing the best that he can!

well Shia Le Douche somehow keeps getting roles but would you say he's a good actor?
your logic fails.. anyway in Lois And Clark I have to agree with the poster who said that he was good as Clark but bad as Superman.
But it wasn't like that series was filled with the best actors ever it was pretty silly.
Anyway Dean Cain isn't really my favourite actor and he might be okay but most of his movies are crap.
