Well I didn't have a problem with her in Temple when I saw it as a pre teen. So I don't see why I should claim I didn't like her now nearly 30 years later.
If I did claim I didn't like her, I might be being pretentious and snooty about it and disengenuine.

Her appearance is average at best, and she cant act worth a damn.
Her retirement from acting was not just so she could raise a family.
It was also so her utter lack of talent would devalue the Spielberg franchise.
Wise decision.

I thought she was hilarious too and she fit perfectly for that film. I don't know if I think Marion would have fit as well for that movie. I love Willie's progression from spoiled nightclub singer to a person who's helping people, protective toward Short Round and growing up. And Kate played it all to perfection.
Not to mention she's stunningly beautiful.:)

Ah, definitely did not like her in Temple of Doom. but not only her, i didnt like the ShortRound kid and i felt like Indy's acting was overdone and bad in temple of Doom as well.
something happened with the movie to bring everyone's acting skills down, surely.
another worst bit: at the end of the movie when she's walking away from indy and he uses the whip please! so Cheesy and just really Bad. the both of them!

I liked WillieI always imagined if I was in her situation I would also be screaming (and fainting at the dinner scene).

Yeah, i thought she was humorously annoying, which seems like that was asked out of the character ( you know, for Indy's facial expressions and snappy comments). it's isn't like she's a poor actress; I watched her in "Dreamscape" and she does a great job being subtle and natural with her character in that film. also, I think that's the film she looks the best in.
If I recall correctly, she didn't take her clothes off in very many of her roles:-)

Oh my gosh, I loved her! She did such a good job to drive you nuts! (That's a good thing) I really thought that she did such a great role.

She probably did steal the show (mostly because she was in the worst one), but she's still not as good as Marion. Indy and Marion are just good together.

she can't act, but I did love the opening sequence.. I laughed so hard when it first opened.. but she isn't an actress, she's a big directors wife (and he came by her the hard way LOL)

Yes, I think her character and her performance were spot on in this movie.
She played the quinessential damsel in distress, I don't know what her detractors were expecting.

I actually liked her character (not loved but liked) but not better than Marion's. What I can't believe is that she is actually only 31 in the movie! I thought she was like 40 something.
Okay editing this to say that I watched it again today and forgot how HORRIBLE she actually was in this! Ughshe ruined every single scene she was in. The overacting the non existing acting skills, my lord she must have had one heck of an agent back then! I didn't dislike the character, I HATED Kate Capshaw as Willieboohiss
The good news is, I loved shorty in this, he's so adorable and what acting chops he had back then!

I did. Willie is one of the best things about Temple of Doom - I wish she had been in Kingdom of the Crystal Skull!

i did. she was really funny and cute when she's not screaming. hehe.. i love the part where she asks for soup and when the soup comes steaming hot in a silver bowl she smells the aroma ans starts digging in only to find eyeballs in it. god.. her expressions in that scene were frigging hilarious! i also felt she had great chemistry with harrison. i love their bickering scenes.
Currently going crazy over downey jr and ms mcadams.
Iron Man was awesome!

I'm actually a big fan of her. The role was basically Fay Ray/Mae West. Kc did a great job bringing her to life, and without her the film would've been much less
