<p dir="auto">He stared in both "Edge of the City" (1957) and "Rosemary's Baby" (1968) and was superb in each. Those are 2 of the greatest films of their genre. He also played a key role in another great film in which he was nominated, 1967's "The Dirty Dozen". He also delivered numerous top level performances on TV. I wouldn't put any of his directed films in the class of either of the 1st 2 above.</p>
