In the early 80's he and another thug beat up a security guard at the (then) Mayflower Hotel in NY, the poor guy (a nice security dude just working for a living) lost his hearing in one ear. Danza is typical bully, needed to have someone help him in the fight

I hung out in that hotel. The restraunt was the observatory something like that. I was talking to the head of security right after it happened. He was tall heavy set guy with a bad hairpiece.111c
The security guy went to danza table. Danza had some of his friends there. One of his friends was a little loud. The security guy was loud himself. The head of security told me his guy handled the situation like sh t. Danza got mad and hit the guy after the security guy pushed him.
It was a million dollars of bad publicity for danza. Security guy sued him and settled for around 25 thousand.
Danza should not have hit him. But, according to the head of security he was provoked. But he had to cover his ass.
