I'm a fan of Demille even though I've only ever seen The Ten Commandments. I'd like to see what else he's done. What are five great Demille films that I should see? Or basically what are the five best Cecil B. Demille movies not including The Ten Commandments?

Okay, you've already had THE KING OF KINGS suggested, so I won't bother w/ that one. (It's his best.)
Go w/ UNION PACIFIC & THE PLAINSMAN. You've already had THE CRUSADES recommended. Go w/ THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH and The 1925 version of THE TEN COMMANDMENTS, which t238ells it from a different perspective.
"So what else is on your mind besides 100 proof women, 90 proof whiskey, and 14 karat gold?"

My God, DeMille had already entered into his disappointing "late period" when he made those movies. His best stuff was done much sooner. I recommend:

HE WHO DARES (1907)

LEMORA AND THE SHADOW (1908)

THE HONOR OF KINGS (1911)

THE MOUNTAIN TIGRESS, A FABLE OF LOVE (1911)
And finally

GUNS OF MADAGASCAR (1913)

King of Kings (1927)

The Whispering Chorus (1918)

The Cheat (1915)

Hi,
The five DeMille's greatest films or only epics? With the films, I am not telling you for sure because I have not seen all of his films. Therefore, I will list only the five best epics from the most well done to the least:

CLEOPATRA

THE SIGN OF THE CROSS

THE KING OF KINGS

SAMSON AND DELILAH

THE CRUSADES
Other films I would recommend are THE GREATEST SHOW Ob68N EARTH and REAP THE WILD WIND.
Hope it helped a bit,
Marcin
