I just realized "Knocking On Heavens Door" wasn't nominated for best orginal song in pat garret and billy the kid. Does anyone know why? I always thought it was one of his best written songs and a rock classic but i only recently realized it was written for the soundtrack of this film. In that case what gives?
"beep it Dude, lets go bowling"

Yet "It's Hard Out Here For a Pimp" won. smh. Did the AMPAS members just decide to be "cool" that year? I mean, it's catchy, but . . .

And Springsteen's "The Wrestler" didn't even get nominated after taking home the Golden Globe, so who cares about the Oscars.or the Grammys for that matter.

Well, for one, the Oscars are not known for their objective assessment of awarding the best performance, rather than simply backslapping whatever was mos1c84t successful.
Bob got an Oscar for 'Things Have Changed', which while I think is well deserved, I'm betting that among non-Bob fans, no-one else even remembers.
So who knows the logic of awards ceremonies. Sometimes these things look prescient in retrospect, sometimes they look simply stupid.
Just a painted face on a trip down suicide row
