RIP He was one of the best directors,and among my personal favorites.

I just now found out about this.
I thank him for the hilarity of The Pink Panther movies and The Pink Panther cartoon character as well. (According to IMDB,Blake wrote 12 of those cartoons).
Ironically,I watched The Pink Panther cartoon this morning in the 6:00 hour before sunrise.
I thank him also for your other great films as well.

The very first Peter Sellers movie I saw was also the first time I had ever heard of Blake Edwards. That movie was RETURN OF THE PINK PANTHER (co-starring Christopher Plummer as a rather swashuckling Sir Charles "the Phantom" Lytton). To me, it was a laugh-riot. As were most of the other movies he did later on.

I offer my heartfelt condolences to his long-time wife, Julie Andrews, and the rest of his family. And, I thank Mr. Edwards, himself, for all the great movie-memories that still drive to me giggling at the most unpredictable times and places.

Condolences to a wonderful family on the loss of a great and talented man.

A GREAT director. Along with Stanley Donen, Richard Quine and a few more, he revitalised the genre of comedy in the 60s. And he also made some wonderful dramatic films and even a western ("The Wild Rovers")!
Rest in peace. He will be missed, but his films, thank God, are there.

RIP also. Him and Ms Andrews proved that you could keep your private life private, no matter what these other attention seekers say.
He made alot of funny films, and we were lucky to have him in our world, because without him, and many other great comedy writers, we would not know the meaning of the word 'funny'.
My condolences go out to his family and friends.

Farewell to one of the last great filmmakers for grown-ups. Mr. Edwards imbued his films with humor, humanity, believable characters and dialogue, and an overwhelming sense of hope. There's no one left to pick up the torch. Truthfully, that torch was extinguished years ago. I will always remember him fondly.

RIP Blake, you made quite a few good movies.

If there is an "afterlife," I hope Blake is having a grand old time, boozing it up, laughing it up what an amazing force of creativity in every genrecomedy, drama, musicalan incredible talent who will make us laugh and cry. He sure did entertain the hell out of us.

RIP Blake Edwards. Loved watching your movies when I was a kid.
