The first time that I ever saw a Pink Panther movie I nearly died laughing. Of course, William Blake Crump - aka Blake Edwards - directed other movies. "Days of Wine and Roses" showed Jack Lemmon's serious side, while "The Great Race" brought Natalie Wood and Dorothy Provine to their sexiest. I was only loosely familiar with Edwards's marriage to Julie Andrews, but I remember that John Lithgow played Edwards in "The Life and Death of Peter Sellers".
Anyway, a cool guy. RIP
