Jack Elam was a hoot in just about everything he did. Perhaps you're not aware of how his eye got that way. As the story goes, he was stabbed in the eye at a Boy Scout meeting. If I was Jack, I would've been sending the Boy Scout who stabbed his eye a royalty check every once in a while. He made a lot of money over the years because of that pencil.
By the way, that was a great episode.
