When I first saw this movie and Bear Man started talking I laughed out loud and said Jack Elam would have been great in this role! I guess I said it louder than I thought because someone in the crowd said 'Amen to that!'

Heck, failing John Wayne for the role of Rooster Cogburn in the 1969 version of "True Grit," Elam would have been better than anyone else as the salty, sousy marshal!
