Why isn't he leading in movies anymore? He's been in supporting mode for the last 15 years or so. I miss his low budget action and thriller movies

True that he hasn't had many leading roles recently but check out "Tornado Warning/Alien Tornado" and "Marriage Retreat." He has leading roles in those films.
