I've got the answer. Peter Gallagher is not Jewish.
When I go to CT, Peter Gallagher is at Mass sometimes at the Catholic Church I go to. He gets Communion, genuflects, etc.

Interesting this is brought up because I was wondering about that myself in light of his extremely convincing performance as the hapless Leo Frank in the t.v. movie "The Murder of Mary Phagan. Check this film out.

I mean really, he might as well be O'Gallagher with a middle name like Killian. I have no doubt he's of an Irish Catholic ethnic descent.
As far as his religion goes, I highly highly doubt he converted to Judaism. No Madonna kabbalah dabbling here. He might not go to mass every Sunday, but he sure as heck isn't going to temple. Not with a wife named Paula Harwood and kids Jamey and Kathryn.
All of which makes his portrayal of Sandy Cohen fairly ridiculous. I've seen some strange casting over the years, and up until now I thought Henry Winkler (Jewish) playing Arthur Fonzerelli (Italian) was a bit of stretch, but this takes the cake. All I can say is Oi Vey Jesusmaryjoseph!

Not necessarily. Have you ever heard about prenatal genetic testing? There are over 7 recessive linked diseases that can effect newborn babies born to Jewish people and it is recommended that both parents get tested before they have children. Almost every race only usually has only one they are at risk for passing on (Caucasians - cystic fibrosis, Africans - sickle cell anemia, people from the Mediterranean and Asians - thalassemia, etc, etc), but Jewish people have more than 7 they should be tested for. I know all of this because I used to work in a genetics office. It seems if they have so many diseases they have to be tested for that no other group has to worry about but them, they are a homogenous group.
