I'll kick things off
James Gandolfini as Col. Winter's in The Last Castle. he suited the role of a army prison warden so well, the jealousy in his mannerism and voice was amazing and outshone the rest of the cast, i think if any other actor was in Gandolfini's role in this movie, this movie would flop. i think if you look at his role compared to the other character's in the movie then you will see its not the scriptwriters who made Gandolfini's role
"Say hello to my little friend" Great Movie Quote. Terrible bedroom talk.

None of his film roles come close to the character developed in The Sopranos. It was one of those rare T.V. moments when, as an artistic platform for acting, it surpasses the movies by no end. It shows you what people thought T.V. was going to become, with characters like that developed every season. The main and most talented actors and actresses drawn away from the movies to the T.V.
I have to give a second as-well though to The Last Castle performance. He made that film from shoddy straight to DVD excrement, to, imo, a just below A-list film. Robert Redford has never worked for me since he got uber jowly after a bad surgical procedure. He can't seem to phy5b4sically emote properly anymore due to it. It's testament to what a great actor he could have been, permanently, had it not hampered him. His straight, understated method of acting (think Jeremiah Johnson, Butch Cassidy and Sundance, two amazing movies, one he carried completely alone) has since become "I'm not really into this anymore, and I'm just going through the motions."
Anyway, for T.V. and over-all character development, Tony Soprano is always going to be mine. However The Last Castle is such an well done performance in a near catastrophe that you can't help but mention it.

None, I never liked the guy, but I guess True Romance is good, not because he is in it, though. The Sopranos come on

Tony Soprano hands down, fantastic character that he made his own.
I also thoroughly enjoy him in True Romance, it's not a big role but he has a great scene where he gives a terrific monologue about killing.
