<p dir="auto">Heflin was a very capable (and to my mind) underappreciated actor. He imbued every one of his characters with a sort of stoic realism - such as his in SHANE (1953). Thought he nailed the role of a sympathetic and caring (albeit eventually disempowered) father.<br />
