I don't think Hudson was political in any major way. If you can trust Phyllis Gates on anything she said that he was of the opinion that politicians are all crooks.

He probably was a moderate conservative. His last partner Marc Christian was also conservative based on a bumper sticker I saw on his car during the last presidential election.
